Notes

The wording doesn't specify "marked coin price", just "price", so this effect applies whether the price is marked in coins or some other currency.

+ Building Contractor

The general principle is that you work out what you were going to pay, and then double it if it's coming from the Market.

Players have four options for building under this combination:

  • They can pay the bank to build from the Market, for double the current price (which is usually the marked coin price).
  • They can pay the bank to build from their hand, for the current price (which is usually the marked coin price).
  • They can pay the Building Contractor half the marked coin price to build from the Market, only to have that cost doubled by the City event. Note that this can save a coin on rounding. (eg. 15 -> 7 -> 14)
  • They can pay the Building Contractor half the marked coin price to build from their hand.

A similar approach applies with Renovation.

Adjusted for clarity.

Previously "Park step: The cost to build attraction and upgrade from the Market is doubled."

The original wording caused some questions about interactions with other cards that modify the build price, such as Building Contractor or Renovation. The revised version standardises on the phrase "including all other effects" to address this.
